How I spend my time on
a personal project

The red line represents time.
First, feed the brain. Load up
on references and seemingly
unrelated inputs. This combo
is the best method of seeing
unique possibilities.
Now think. Ideate. Get those
sacrificial concepts out.
Then check in with a peer or
a collaborator you trust.
Stress test the chosen idea
before investing more hours.
Run a brutal Q&A w/ yourself
going through ‘what ifs’
Experiment. Go wild. Imagine
something far-field. Then
bring in someone again to go
review them with you
Build the visual details.
Craft the experience and
stretch the execution.
Edit down and curate your
designs until all stylistic
choices dovetail into place.
